Dear Community, I am working with histology TIFFs. Sometimes they are as big as 3 GBs. They are multipage tiffs (12 pages). My platform is. I have a set of Multi Page TIF image files, which I am trying to split into individual images. I have tried using convert, which does the trick, but. I have a collection of 10, or so PDF files that need to be converted to Multi- Page Tiff’s. I would like to group the files and do this in chunks.

They created a patch in a newer version so maybe I’ll try the newer version.
But apparently Imagemagick can extract a specific tif from the original file without loading it completely, so was able to split the bigger file with a simple bash script:.
From what I have read, this happens because Imagemagick first loads and decodes all the input images and only after that imaegmagick starts encoding them into the output file. Which is what ImageMagick is designed to work with. Now im working on it to install a new version on my server, then i can use all the examples listed up there.
So I want a single tiff, with many pages. Usage questions are like “How do I use ImageMagick to create drop shadows? If you want to retain text, other tools such as OpenOffice would be more useful.

I think I am going to have to seriously consider my alternatives. The issue that Andrew raised is one of quality, I think if I understood him correctly. Sign up using Email and Password. The smaller cases do not pose any problems, but the larger ones do.

I suspect it is just taking longer to process all pages than you might think in terms of reading them all in imayemagick writing them all out. It seems you have to build from source to get this feature working correctly.
Anthony, we looked at your link. Sounds like a Mac issue.
I apologize but I am unable to share the document, it’s IP belonging to my employer. And the tiff has a page per each png. Bit 0 is the low-order bit. But it is similar to a gif animation. Pages 2-N do not get converted or even transferred.
I am beginning to think that it would be smarter just to get some other software to do this. This is what led us to adding the imagemagico commands which does convert all of the pages, we just get an extra page 1.

ImageMagick examples mostly using php Imagick examples. Convert many png’s to multi-page tiff Ask Question. Select all convert multiple. So hopefully Anthony or some one else can clarify this. Bit multilage is 1 if uncompressed mode is used. That is bytes per image, bytes total for 70 images.
So hopefully it should work for a tif sequence and then output pdf pages. I need to radically reduce amount of memory used during the operation. I’ve switched to different PDF’s and still having the same issue.
I found the topic “possible bug converting acrobat pdf to other formats” in the list after searching for PDF Delegates It’s not that it’s impossible to do, but the quality of the converted image may be an issue simply because of the way the software works.
