I am really looking forward to Karolyi’s long delayed, two-volume “Karpov’s Strategic Wins”, hopefully sometime here in I missed some classic Karpov endgames, that might have suited the book better than some of the examples that where used. Gabriele Fugazzi added it Endhame 18, Hello, Will have to get this book by the sound of it, found Karolyi’s books on Kasparov excellent. Refresh and try again. The examples are generally excellent, but Smyslov didn’t provide enough analysis for my money. To see what your friends thought of this book, please sign up. When it comes to slowly improving the position no computer would be as good as Karpov is.

Aside from virhuoso index in the back on who Karpov played, the really useful reference is the table in the back called Endgame Classification.
